When a muslim hears thats someone has died, this is the most common thing that is said: إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un ‘Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.’ This is the most common thing people in Islam say when someone dies.
Those present when the person passes should continue tradition by saying “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un”. This means “Verily we belong to Allah, and truly to Him shall we return” and is a must for all Muslims who have since passed from this world.
